A Word From the Director
My name is Rachel, and I have been the Executive Director for about three months now. I know I have not been in this role for exceptionally long, but I want to share some information with you that I think is valuable. Did you know that 14% of both the Wexford and Osceola Counties’ working populations are unemployed? That means that out of roughly 57,000 people, 8,000 adults are struggling to pay their utility bills, grocery bills, buy their kid’s school supplies, and more. I don’t know about you, but these statistics break my heart. We are in the business of transformation, and if you know anything about transformation, it is not done instantaneously. It will take time. Speaking of Time… Several years ago, I was sitting at a discipleship conference and the speaker gave us three words that are applicable in every area of our lives: Time, Vision, and Grace. The first thing I thought about as I entered my new role this year, is how it will take time, vision, and grace to have the opportunity to help transform lives. I also thought about how each word is applicable in the offices at Love, INC.
Time: I know that earning the respect of my colleagues, church partners, and area organizations, will take time… and a lot of it. I will need to show up and be present.
Vision: To move forward as an organization, a vision is essential. As we enter a new year, the vision is being set, and we are excited to be creative with all of you!
Grace: Grace is an act or instance of kindness or courtesy. Love in the Name of Christ, as we know the full name to be, is the epitome of grace. It is everything we stand for, err on, and work toward. It truly is an honor to be a part of something so meaningful alongside all of you. Although these words are what I thought about as I entered my new role here, they are also my prayer as we enter this Christmas and New Year season. I pray we reflect on them and be reminded of the time, vision, and grace given to us through the birth of Jesus Christ; a testament to God’s unconditional, radical, selfless love…a love that we have an opportunity to emulate every single day.
Grace and Peace,
Rachel Reinink
